摘要
Coke is used as a fuel for the production of metallic iron in the foundry industry. The quality of a foundry product depends on the quality of raw materials, the quality of fuels, and the production process condition. In the present study, three types of imported coke CK-01, CK-02, and CK-03 were collected from Raja Foundry and Distribution Co. Ltd. (RFDCL), Bogra, and investigated their quality in foundry processes. The physicochemical properties of those materials as moisture, ash, volatile matter, fixed carbon, heating value, and the metallic constituents in ash along with C, H, N, and S content were investigated. The coke reactivity index CRI, coke strength after reaction CRS and their relationship were also investigated. The resulting data indicated that the CK-03 exhibited good quality coke than those of CK-01and CK-02, while CK-02 exhibited comparatively less quality. These findings revealed that good quality product produces from good quality coke while defective products are produced with less quality coke.
