摘要
We present a new fiber-optic temperature sensing approach that enables temperature measurements near the tip of an optical fiber without requiring any special processing. By leveraging low-coherence Brillouin optical correlation-domain reflectometry, our proposed configuration eliminates the need for an independent reference light path and instead utilizes the Fresnel reflected light from the fiber tip as the reference. Through experimental validation, we successfully demonstrate the capability to measure temperature within a 40-cm-long region near the fiber tip. This achievement comes with a spatial resolution estimated at 26 cm, which is obtained from the measured laser linewidth. This method offers significant cost and labor savings due to its simplified implementation. & COPY; 2023 Elsevier Science. All rights reserved.
