Green synthesis and magnetically separable Fe3O4/SnO2/g-C3N4 ternary nanocomposite for degradation of Rhodamine B

摘要
A new green synthesis technique for Fe3O4, SnO2, and its ternary nanocomposite, Fe3O4/SnO2/g-C3N4, had been devised. This approach used plant extracts from Lemon (Citrus x lemon) fruits, which were abundant in Mizoram, India. The nanomaterials were produced hydrothermally and evaluated by UV-Visible, FT-IR, XRD, SEM, TEM, and XPS analysis. XRD measurement confirmed the nanocomposite's phase purity. The photocatalytic activity of magnetically separable ternary photocatalyst materials for Rhodamine B (RhB) degradation was examined under visible light from a 50-watt Philips LED bulb at 30 min interval. An external magnet isolated the magnetically active ternary photocatalyst from the aqueous suspension, making recycling it easy and effective.
