摘要：

Intracranial germinomas mainly occur in the neurohypophyseal trunk and pineal body but are less frequent in the basal ganglia. Other sites are rare and account for only 6% of primary lesions of germinomas. Among them midbrain germ cell tumors are extremely rare, with only 9 cases reported to date. Here, we present a case of germinoma of the midbrain that was diagnosed using histopathological and DNA methylation classifier analysis. Through a literature review, we summarized the clinical and radiographic characteristics of midbrain germinomas for diagnostic and therapeutic development. © The Author(s) 2023.
