摘要
& BULL; Syndesmosis injuries are complex, often involving multiple ligaments and concomitant injuries. & BULL; Subject-specific factors, such as bone morphology, injury pattern, injury severity, and fixation approach, impact fibula mechanics. & BULL; An ideal fixation construct and/or surgical technique capable of matching fibula mechanics between intact and repaired syndesmoses has not yet been identified. & BULL; Arthrokinematics and loading patterns across the foot and ankle change in the presence of syndesmosis injury and after repair. However, the clinical conse-quences of these changes are unknown. & BULL; There is a need for in vivo studies examining the relationship between syndesmo-sis biomechanics and patient-reported outcomes.
