Enhanced magnetic anisotropy in Dy-doped nanocrystalline NiFe2O4

摘要
Dysprosium-doped NFO nanocrystalline samples, NiFe2-xDyxO4 with x = 0.05, and 0.075 were synthesized by the sol-gel technique. Structural and magnetic characterization was obtained by using X-ray diffraction, Raman, Energy-Dispersive X-ray spectrum, and magnetic isotherms. 'Dy'-substitution elongated the NiFe2O4 lattice by 0.01%. The coercivity decreases with an increase in the Dy3+ doping while the magnetic anisotropy is significantly enhanced (- 350%) compared to bulk NiFe2O4.
