Synthesis and Characterization of New 1,3,4-Oxadiazole Ring on Creatinine Derivatives Using Iodine and Study Their Anticancer Effect

摘要
Using the iodine method, new 1,3,4-oxadiazole compounds (IIa-b) synthesized from creatinine can be produced in good yield. FT-IR and H-1 NMR spectroscopy techniques were used to measure the newly synthesized compounds. Compound (IIa) (1-methyl-2-[{N-benzyl-N-(2-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-5-yl) methyl} amino]-4-oxo-4,5-dihydro imidazole) had been evaluated for anticancer activity in vitro against cancer cell line hepG2 compared with normal cell line WRL68. The cytotoxic effect of the compound (IIa) (1-methyl-2-[{N-benzyl-N-(2-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-5-yl) methyl} amino]-4-oxo-4,5-dihydro imidazole) on hepG2 cells was investigated at varied doses of the compound ranging from 25 to 400 & mu;g/mL. The maximum concentration of hepG2 viability was found at 25 & mu;g/mL (75.73 & PLUSMN; 3.72), while the lowest concentration of hepG2 viability was found at 400 & mu;g/mL (39.6 & PLUSMN; 1.34).
