摘要
The aim of this study is to know the characteristics of sensory processing in child ' s population with ASD and specifically, to determine if there is a relationship between possible abnormal sensory development and individual variables such as gender, educational modality, associated disorders or access to play functional and symbolic. The research has used a quantitative methodology through a descriptive-correlational study based on a non-probability sample of 46 children with ASD from different schools in the Community of Madrid. As a data collection instrument, a game ' s questionnaire development and Winnie Dunn's Sensory Profile 2 -Child (2016), both completed by Education and Early Intervention professionals, are used. The results achieved show that all the children presented an abnormal sensory process that influenced the performance of daily activities and other areas of development. The variables of gender and associated disorders do not significantly influence worse sensory processing. Sensory development is very similar among students from ordinary, preferential TEA and Special Education centers. No significant differences in sensory processing were found in children who performed functional play, while a relationship was observed between the absence of symbolic play and poorer sensory development.
