摘要
Over the last twenty years, the field of epistemology has tremendously widened, both in terms of objects and methods. As a result, the boundaries that used to sever this discipline from other fields of study seem to have faded away. Social psychology, cognitive science, sociology, history, anthropology, and gender studies, to name but a few, all claim to be relevant when human knowledge is under investigation. Now whereas some epistemologists endorse such claims as appropriate and well founded, others insist that a clear-cut distinction between disciplines is necessary for the sake of epistemology itself. Relying on recent books and earlier papers by Roger Pouivet and Pascal Engel, our aim is to account for and discuss the main arguments that animate this debate.
