摘要
The growth of the space industry has accelerated in recent years, and countries around the world are promoting the development of the space industry with a focus on private companies. Korea is also preparing policies to nurture the space industry as a future leading industry. However, as the space industry ecosystem led by the private sector is still under development, systematic research on the management efficiency analysis of space companies is insufficient. This study aimed to measure the efficiency of space companies using the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method on 53 major space companies around the world, and to derive efficiency improvement measures and policy implications through a comparative analysis of the management efficiency between global space companies and domestic space companies. As a result of the analysis for efficiency improvement, total assets and the number of employees were judged to be relatively important factors for efficiency improvement. The results of this study are expected to be used as a reference for the formulation of detailed policies for the private-led space industrialization of the Korean government.
