摘要
This paper presents a wideband dual-input reconfigurable Doherty power amplifier (DR-DPA) to compensate the effects of the load mismatch on the output power (Pout) and drain efficiency (DE). Through series/parallel mode reconfiguration, the DR-DPA demonstrates relative brilliant performance over the circle of VSWR 2:1. In addition, this mismatch resilience can be extended to wideband operation based on exchangeable gate biasing settings. Moreover, a digital dual-input structure is utilized to overcome imperfect cooperation between main and auxiliary PAs at turning-on point. To validate the proposed concepts, the prototype is designed for 1.7-2.7 GHz and tested with Continous-wave measurement. At a nominal 50 Omega load, the proposed DR-DPA demonstrates a saturation Pout of 43-43.5 dBm, a peak DE of 68 %-75 % and a 59 %-68 % 6-dB output back-off DE. Moreover, on a full-span 2:1 VSWR circle, the proposed PA realizes less than 1.2 dBm Pout loss and a 6 %-10.5 % DE reduction.
