Die Transfusionsrichtlinien bezuglich der Schwellenwerte fur die Thrombozytenzahl vor dem Legen eines zentralen Venenkatheters (ZVK) enthalten widerspruchliche Empfehlungen, da qualitativ hochwertige und aussagekraftige Belege fehlen. Der routinema ss ige Einsatz von Ultraschall hat die Blutungskomplikationen verringert. F. L. F. van Baarle und Kollegen uberpruften nun, wie der Verzicht auf entsprechende Transfusionen das Blutungsrisiko beeinflusst.
