摘要
Rising temperatures on Earth have led to the exploration of new technologies to help curb the severe effects of climate change. Green planning systems belong to a new type of Internet-based technology that aim to use computing resources efficiently to reduce energy consumption and CO(2 )emissions. The rapid advancement of renewable energy generation infrastructure and the lack of energy storage solutions at scale have highlighted the importance of energy self-consumption principles in new domains (e.g., heating/cooling, electromobility, and appliances), which refer to the process of intelligently consuming energy at the time it is available. This article analyzes existing green planning systems, energy management applications, and future challenges deploying self-consumption of renewable energy. We also present experiences of a green planning system we developed in-house. Our overview and categorization will be helpful to a variety of researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to make their systems environmentally friendly.
