摘要
Introduction: Nutritional disorders due to excess are a health problem in Ecuador due to their high incidence and prevalence. It has been described that overweight and obesity generate complications affecting different organs and organ systems, affecting health and potentially endangering the lives of patients. Objective: To identify the relationship between nutritional status and cardiometabolic risk in schoolchildren between 6 and 11 years of age. Methods: Basic research, with a non-experimental, exploratory, descriptive and crosssectional design, carried out in a universe of 90 children between 6 and 11 years of age attended by the company Arca Continental Quito. Nutritional status, anthropometric measurements, and cardiometabolic risk were determined in each case. Pearson's correlation test was used to identify the relationship between the variable's nutritional status and cardiometabolic risk. Results: Average age of 104.15 months with an average weight of 29.57 kg, height of 127.33 cm and waist circumference of 62.59 cm. 66.67% of the children presented normal weight, 23.33% overweight and 8.89% obesity. In 36.67% of the cases the presence of cardiometabolic risk was identified. Conclusion: The presence of a medium positive correlation between the nutritional status of the children and the presence of cardiometabolic risk was identified.
