Numerical study of hydrogen blending on the laminar combustion characteristics of n-decane/air mixtures

摘要
In this work, the effects of n-decane/hydrogen on the laminar burning velocity (LBV), adiabatic flame temperature (AFT) and net heat release rate (NHRR) of n-decane were analysed and determined based on calculations using CHEMKIN/PREMIX with a detailed chemical kinetics mechanism. The results show that LBV may be divided into three phases according to the proportion of hydrogen in the C10H22/H2/air mixtures. The chemical effect of H2 promoted the LBV and AFT of n-decane. In addition, the physical effect of H2 inhibited the chemical reaction of n-decane, resulting in the decrease of NHRRs. The sensitivity analysis shows that the key reaction to promote LBV is R1: H + O2 = OH + O. Hydrogen reduced the emissions of NO, NO2 and CO, especially the NO production rate decreased by 24%. Our results demonstrate that adding hydrogen to n-decane can improve the laminar combustion characteristics, especially LBV and pollutant emissions.
