摘要：

After more than 60 years of programming on Spanish Television (TVE), contests remain in the collective imagination. TVE constitutes a hallmark of programming quality sponsored by the variety of contest formats endorsed by their presenters, contestants, sets and public. The objective of this study is to analyze the defining characteristics contest broadcast in the 70's, 80's and 90's on TVE. The research method is quantitative and qualitative content analysis. The results confirm the predominance of national productions, the prevalence of prime time broadcasting and the commitment to family entertainment through spectacular and fast-paced products.
