摘要
Voltage variations such as sags and swells associated with voltage phase jump must be compensated using high active power requirements. The high active power requirements increase the cost and the size of an energy storage system (ESS) associated with the DVR. Some existing control schemes rely on decreasing the cost of phase jump mitigation by reducing the active power requirements either by limiting the injected voltage or using an optimization tool to optimize ESS energy sharing. In this paper, a control scheme is proposed to provide voltage transients compensation which relies on a phase jump mitigation in the load voltage using a phase angle transition mechanism. The proposed scheme increases the DVR compensation time by 50% compared with existing phase jump compensation approaches. For the same compensation time, this modification can be translated into a significant reduction in dc link capacitor size. The proposed scheme for voltage compensation is tested for different types of supply voltage transients, including voltage sag, harmonics injection, and balanced and unbalanced short circuit cases. The proposed scheme is validated using the MATLAB/Simulink simulation platform.
