摘要
Rural community-based tourism thanks to Yucatan State incentives in Mexico is promoted in a homogeneous and indiscriminate manner throughout the territory without any acknowledgement of local differentiating characteristics. This study is na interdisciplinar analysis of the local expressions manifest in the organisation and functioning of three cooperatives located in the Cancun-Riviera Maya hinterland. We found a constellation of three elements: the fajina or unpaid collective work; the apprenticeship in family participation in which everyone contributes to the extent they wish and in whatever takes their interest; and the distribution of benefits. This has generated a form of cooperativismo adapted to the local situation that contributes to its permanence in highly competitive conditions.
