摘要
This article aims to analyze the historical process of conceptualization of the right to be ill at work. Expressly, it reflects on the process of configuration and legitimation of knowledge about occupational diseases in Colombia, diffi-culties in drawing the limits of the domain of occupational disease, and the arguments for excluding tropical and social diseases. In the end, it concludes that the social protection paradigm spread in the 1940s was aimed at workers in the industrial and mining-energy sectors while systematically excluding workers in the rural sector.
