摘要
The aim was to analyse the risk management of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Sao Paulo. This is a descriptive research, with qualitative approach and data collection in three stages: a) a documental analyse; b) an analysis in newspapers; c) semi-structured interviews with stakeholders who performed at the mega sporting event. For the interpretation of data, the technique content analysis was used. The results indicated that economic and financial, health and environmental, and safety and protection risks were minimal. On the other hand, the political and governmental, infrastructure, and operational and organizational risks were recurrent in the management of the FIFA World Cup in Sao Paulo. The main findings contribute to an assessment of the economic, political and social development of the sports mega-events and can instigate further research in future editions.
