In a clinical investigation on 32 patientswith only grand mal seizures,all of whomshowed unsatisfactory response to conventionalantiepileptic treatment,“Qingyangshen” (青阳参root of Cynanchum otophyllum Schneid.),wasgiven in addition to the antiepileptic drugs used.After a course of 2-9 months’ treatment,seizureswere basically controlled in 9 cases.Reduction in seizure frequency was betterthan 50% in 20 cases,while in the other 3 it
