Travel Route of Xu Xiake 350 Years ago Xu Hongzu (1589-1644), styled Zhenzhi, widely known as Xiayi and Xiake, was born in Jiangyin, Jiangsu province. He was an outstanding ancient adventurer, tourist and geographer. At the age of 22, he began his 10,000 li travels. Over 30 years, he visited more than half of China. Based on personal visits and impressions, he wrote a book Travels of Xu Xiake. He is honoured for his writings and travels. Jiangsu itinerary
