摘要
A new B2O3 coating technique has been developed for the manufacture of liquidencapsulated float zone GaAs ampoules for on-orbit processing. The B2O3 coating is applied tothe surface of the GaAs rod in such a manner that it does not come into contact with thequartz tube. This eliminates problems encountered due to the differences in thermal expansionbetween quartz and boric oxide.
