In January 1945,Roosevelt arranged to bring his son James back from service in the South Pacific.so Jamescould be present at his fourth inauguration(总统就职典礼).At one point James told his father that,although theAmericans were winning the war in the Pacific,they still had a lot of fighting to face,and that since the invasion ofJapan,in particular,was bound to be bloody,he could not be sure he would ever return to see his father again,“James,”siad Roosevelt softly,“there will be no invasion of Japan.We will have something that will end our war
