Organofunctional chlorosilanes are a group of versatile organosilicon compounds, to which an important synthetic approach is the hydrosilylation of unsaturated olefinic compounds, generally using chloroplatinic acid as catalyst. However, the use of chloroplatinic acid as homogeneous catalyst on an industrial scale can lead to some problems, for example, corrosion, separation and the recovery of catalyst from reaction products. In recent years, polymer-supported metal complex catalysts have been developed, because they combine the advantages of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts.
