摘要
This paper explains the design process of dual control loops for back-to-back power electronic converters of a doubly fed induction generator based wind energy conversion system. The performance of the controllers in keeping the system at maximum power point is evaluated while implementing an adaptive maximum power point tracking algorithm on the system. Objectives of the cascaded control loops and methodology of their design process are discussed elaborately in sequence. The performance of the system is evaluated on a real-time (RT) OP5700 simulator in the simulation in loop (SIL) method. Simulation and experimental results demonstrated the satisfactory performance of the system in extracting maximum power against to all types of wind flow conditions.
