摘要
This paper explores the challenges and opportunities associated with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in underserved communities. It discusses various STEM learning methodologies, implemented by our team consisting of IEEE volunteers, in several initiatives over the last two years, and proposes a comprehensive approach to address the unique needs of such communities based on the learning outcomes and thus foster an environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking and skill development. Case studies and examples from successful STEM programs conducted for elementary, middle and high school students of the underserved community in West Bengal, India, have been analyzed to extract best practices in the teaching learning process.
