摘要
The 28 GHz spectrum enables 5 G networks to present a wide-ranging of applications, like improved fixed wireless access and mobile internet. In this article, a metamaterial-etched couple-element MIMO microstrip radiator has been modelled with measurements of 7.2 x 14.4 x 0.254 mm(3) for 5 G mmWave applications. The metamaterial-inspired complementary rectangular split ring resonator (CRSRR) incorporated single-element signal emitter was modelled in the dimensions of 7.2 x 7.2 x 0.254 mm(3). It is resonating at 28 GHz in the wide working frequency-band of 23.9-30.33 GHz (23% bandwidth) with a gain of 3.61 dBi. Here, the CRSRR patch and the partial ground plane (PGP) are the key elements for heightened radiation. For enhancing the signal-emitting quality, a closely spaced couple-element MIMO radiating structure was developed and its performance analysed. A novel modified ground plane (MGP) was made for de-coupling. The proposed MIMO radiator resonating at 28 GHz is working in the bands of 5 G NR n257, n258, and n261 with noteworthy radiation properties (gain 7 dBi, efficiency 99%, isolation <-17.5 dB, ECC < 0.01, DG similar to 10 dB, CCL < 0.3, MEG < -6 dB). It was also manufactured and tested. The results from tested antenna are compared with the results simulated and observed good similarity in matching.
