摘要
Introduction: Blunt abdominal trauma is an injury to the abdomen without penetration into the peritoneal cavity, which can result from a blow, impact, blast, deceleration, or compression. Blunt abdominal trauma can occur at any age and is associated with high morbidity and mortality, found in approximately 7-10% of trauma patients. This research intends to examine the profile and factors that influence the outcome of blunt abdominal trauma patients at Dr. Soetomo General Methods: This observational cross sectional study was conducted at Dr. Soetomo General Hospital, Surabaya, from January to December 2022. This research method is descriptive based on medical records of blunt abdominal trauma. Results: The total number of subjects who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in this study was 67 subjects. In this study, it was found that blunt abdominal trauma caused the most trauma to solid organs (79%) than hollow organs (18%). In this study, it was found that blunt abdominal trauma caused the most trauma to the liver (43%), followed by the spleen (34%), jejunum (8.9%), and bladder (4%). Trauma to the kidney, rectum, and sigmoid was found in 2 (2.9%) subjects, while in the colon and duodenum in 1 (1.5%) subject. Conclusion: Morbidity and mortality linked to blunt abdominal trauma can be lowered by implementing early diagnosis and a comprehensive multi-trauma approach.
