摘要
The aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in sheep from the Ancash region, Peru. In total, 199 serum samples were evaluated with a commercial indirect ELISA kit. The real seroprevalence of antibodies against T. gondii was 55.47% (95% CI: 55.14- 55.80). The province of Yungay had the highest frequency with 82.01% (95% CI: 80.78- 83.24), as well as animals that lived at <2500 m above the sea level with areal value of 76.11% (95% CI: 74.83- 77.39). A significant association was found with the variable altitude (OR = 2.96, p=0.016), where sheep living at altitudes <2500 m above sea level have a higher risk of contracting toxoplasmosis compared to those living at altitudes >2500 m above sea level. No significant association was found with the variables age and sex (p>0.05).
