摘要
The characteristics of the receiving antenna can be analyzed by the Thevenin equivalent circuit, but this equivalent circuit has limitations in determining the loss and scattered powers for a lossy antenna when the antenna is close to a very large load impedance. In this paper, the Poynting streamline method is used to directly model the antenna as a receiver where the flow of the field energy around the antenna can be represented by generating streamlines of Poynting vector field. A new equivalent circuit is proposed for receiving lossy dipole antenna in the response of an incident plane wave to address the limitations of traditional Thevenin equivalent circuits.
