From one monolingualism to (the) other. On messianism of language in Derrida and Lacan

This paper aims to put in relation the thought of Jacques Derrida and Jacques Lacan focusing on certain aspects of their work. I sustain that the Lacanian concept of lalangue, along with the specific sense of jouissance which is related to, allows us to go through the Derridean topic of monolingualism of the Other in a deeper way. This topic is straightly linked with the issue of messianicity, and that enables us to find out a sort of messianism in the last Lacan. The aim is to propose a way of translation between Derrida's and Lacan's texts, as well as to uphold the validity of their ideas in order to think, nowadays, about intersubjectivity.
