摘要
In this study, we investigate the effects of corruption on the inequality of opportunity between Blacks and Whites, which is the main cause of economic inequality between these two racial groups. To our knowledge, this is the first study investigating the relationship between the two. Using data from U.S. counties we find that corruption, in fact, is associated with an increase in opportunity gap between Blacks and Whites and the effects of corruption are stronger in more segregated counties.
