摘要
Mining is the process of extracting minerals like liquids, solids, or gases from the ground. Coal is used in the production of electricity, cement, steel, and various industries. However, ensuring the safety of coal mining workers in today's generation is challenging. To increase the safety of mining workers and achieve profitability while lowering costs, we need creative and innovative methodologies. The methodology is divided into two sections: one, for proposing a system to monitor mine workers and the other for overall monitoring. Safety takes precedence in any working environment, especially in mining, where extracting coal from underground presents significant risks. Despite existing precautions, accidents persist. A more effective system is needed to monitor health, temperature, water level, moisture, and gases underground. Various harmful gases like CH4, CO, SO2, NO2 are released during mining, severely affecting the workers' health. The environment inside the mine is hostile. A better system must be developed to meet all aspects related to the mining environment and immediately alert workers about conditions so they can rescue people from accidents. This work monitors hazardous gases, fire, moisture, temperature, and humidity. The monitoring and alerting system is driven by an Arduino microcontroller for the master controller and 8051 microcontrollers for slave controllers. If there is any critical state, it alerts the workers through the buzzer, and messages are sent to the supervisor immediately so they can rescue people in the mining area. To get over this problem, a wireless sensor network's application system has been proposed.
