摘要
Introduction: The prostate produces key nutrients for male reproduction, highlighting PSA, which is used for prostate cancer screening (PC). Objective: To determine PSA concentrations, knowledge, attitudes, and practices about the tests used in the early detection of PC in men from a transport company in the city of Duitama, Boyac & aacute;, Colombia. Method: The PSA was analyzed in venous blood, and validation was applied regarding the exams used for early detection. Results: Thirty-eight carriers between 40 and 60 years; median PSA was 1.39 ng/mL, and 5.3% presented results higher than 4 ng/mL. Knowledge, attitudes, and practices were adequate in 60.5%, 21%, and 63.5%, respectively. Conclusions: Implementing and PC prevention strategies for CAPS-deficient populations is necessary.
