摘要
Security and privacy have become increasingly important with the ever-increasing number of new IoT devices joining the global internet. This paper proposes a blockchain-based architecture for enhancing scalable security in IoT networks. We leverage smart contracts to implement access control terms onto the blockchain. Specifically, the smart contract implements two authorization levels for managing administrators and devices in IoT networks. The implemented prototype has been deployed and tested on the Ganache Blockchain network. The smart contract manages the administrators and devices following the defined terms that only authorized entities can access and make changes to the system. The implemented smart contract took 28.79 s to add 1,024 edge devices, with 31,364,892 gas units spent. Our approach offers decentralised scalability and security solutions for IoT networks.
