摘要
Programmatic accreditation validates the quality of nursing education, ensuring programs meet rigorous standards and prepare competent graduates ready to effectively contribute to the healthcare workforce. Faculty are essential to the success of accreditation activities, yet educators can feel overwhelmed with these activities as they may lack needed knowledge, skills, and abilities to complete accreditation tasks. Faculty may also have misunderstandings about accreditation. These accreditation myths can hinder program data collection and decision-making thus leading to unfavorable accreditation reviews that may negatively impact program stakeholders. This article examines and dispels myths associated with programmatic accreditation. By dispelling myths, faculty can enhance accurate understanding of accreditation processes, promote successful reviews, and advance nursing education.
