摘要
In an increasingly urbanized world, architecture is called to make its contribution to helping cities face the great challenges of sustainable urban development, meeting the demands of 21st century life and guaranteeing access to basic services. The essay investigates the issues connected to the processes of densification of the urban form in the contemporary Latin American city with reference to a degree thesis developed in the context of a Double Degree Agreement between the DICIV of the University of Salerno and the FAUD of the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba. The research achieves the development of a design proposal for the completion and regeneration of a residual urban sector of the city of Cordoba in Argentina, starting from the reinterpretation of the widespread residential blocks typical of the colonial city tissue. The project proposes a possible strategy of densification as an alternative to the current model of spatial organization of the city. Theoretical research and analysis of reference cases have fed the process of knowledge of the subject and supported the development of the project that arises from the need to transfer these theoretical concepts to the operational process.
