A Pattern-Reconfigurable Antenna based on DNA-like SSPPs with Simple Switching Method

摘要
In this paper, a circularly polarized reconfigurable antenna based on a DNA-like SSPPs structure. The main radiator of the antenna is a DNA-like structure consisting of a double helix structure and metal strips. The SSPPs mode is excited by placing a pair of electric dipoles at the end of the main radiator. When the electric dipoles are excited in the same phase, the odd mode with an endfire circularly polarized beam is generated at 2.4 GHz. When the electric dipoles are excited out of phase, the even mode with a quasi-omnidirectional beam is generated at 2.4 GHz. The switching of the antenna pattern only requires adjusting the phase difference between two dipoles, which can be used in vehicle communication.
