Genetic heterogeneity of neurodegenerative diseases in childhood

Dementia or neurodegenerative diseases are discussed primarily in middle to old adulthood, but also occur in childhood [1]. The mortality rate from any disorders is comparable to that of oncological diseases in childhood. This article introduces the very diverse, heterogeneous spectrum of prevalent and underrepresented so-called "childhood dementias".
