摘要
HS wounds are complex and have unique characteristics that complicate dressing needs. Lesion location, depth, dysbiosis, and biofilm presence all complicate routine and postsurgical wound management. A variety of options exist; however, there is currently no dedicated system in place for HS wound care that has been investigated in a controlled study. Ideal dressings for HS wounds should target dysbiosis and biofilms, exudate management, odor, and pain. Postsurgical wound care follows similar principles as routine care. Overall, there is a need for increased research and patient education on both routine and postsurgical wound care in HS to reduce the burden of disease and improve patient QOL.
