Office Ethernet and industrial Ethernet implementations differ in four critical ways that determine reliable or unreliable operations: Determinism, noise immunity, environmental ratings, and protocols. Ethernet, an evolving set of standards under IEEE 802.3-2018, has overtaken other networking standards, accounting for 52[%] of new installations, according to HMS Industrial Networks’ annual study in 2018.
