The spillover of daily job crafting onto employees' work-family experiences: the role of daily harmonious passion and trait mindfulness

摘要
Research on job crafting has mostly focused on its work-related outcomes, with limited exploration of its spillover effects on family domains, especially work-family enrichment and work-family conflict. Taking a day-to-day dynamic perspective, we tried to fill in the gap by examining how and when daily job crafting influence daily WFE and WFC. Based on self-determination theory, we suggest that daily job crafting arouses daily harmonious passion, which then increases daily WFE and reduces daily WFC. In addition, employee trait mindfulness moderates the relationship between daily job crafting and daily harmonious passion such that the positive relationship is stronger when employee trait mindfulness is high rather than low. We obtained 1047 day-level observation from 105 participants and adopted a multilevel method to examine our hypotheses. These finding indicate that the effects of job crafting can extend beyond the workplace, offering guidance for how individuals can find more meaning in their daily lives.
