摘要
This paper provides a detailed analysis of the important performance metrics like effective capacity (EC) and symbol error rate (SER) over fluctuating Nakagami-m fading channel. This distribution is obtained from the ratio of two independent random variables (RVs), where the numerator follows the Nakagami-m distribution, while the denominator is a power of the uniform distribution. The fluctuating Nakagami-m distribution has potential applications in modeling signal propagation for underwater acoustic communications, vehicle-to-vehicle communications, and device-to-device communications. Our study derives exact analytical expressions for the EC and SER under different modulation schemes, considering the effect of channel parameters. Recognising the importance of additive Laplacian noise (ALN) in today's scenario, it has been considered for the error performance analysis of the system. Numerical results are provided to validate the analytical findings, showing the influence of the channel conditions on the system performance. The study highlights that the EC and SER are significantly affected by the fading parameters, with higher fading severity and fluctuation rates lead to degraded performance.
