摘要
Present work deals with the design and finite element analysis (FEA) of a three-wheeled foldable electric vehicle. The vehicle is intended for use of inhouse purposes. The design phase includes evaluation of stress and deflection using classical approach. Use of shear force and bending moment diagram for calculating stresses and deflections are shown. Section properties of individual members of the vehicle structure are also calculated. The theoretical values of stresses and deflection fall within the acceptable limits of yield stresses of the material. FEA of the vehicle has been carried out using Ansys software. Values of stress and deflection from FEA are in close correlation with those available in literature. From model analysis, six different modes of vibrations and corresponding frequencies are evaluated. Crash analysis of the vehicle is also carried for three types of impacts viz., front, rear and side. The velocity considered for analysis is 25kmph. Ergonomics aspect of the vehicle is also assessed. From the RULA and REBA analysis the ergonomic aspect of the vehicle is found to be in acceptable limits. © 2024. Carbon Magics Ltd.
