EXTERIOR WALLS OF THE NORTH (A DESIGN CONSIDERATION).

This study addresses the adequacy of existing northern structures using standard construction techniques and evaluates these structures from thermal, economic, and comfort aspects. An improved design and construction method, the waffle wall, is discussed which uses existing equipment, material, and technical skills to accomplish the same purpose. The basic concepts apply equally to floor and roof design, as well as, walls.
