Question of determining the composition of composites by a tomographic method

摘要：
One possible method of determining the volume content of composite components by using x-ray calculational tomography is examined. Equations are developed for use of the method. The method was used to study organic plastic specimens cut out of a preloaded shell. The proposed method permits computation of the volume content of the original components, the porosity, the volume content of the open and closed pores in each elementary layer of material, and clarification of the regularities of its structure.
