摘要
Bamboo reinforcement has many advantages, specially in the tropical regions where most species of bamboo grow fast and straight. Even a partial substitution of bamboo for steel in reinforcing concrete can lead to substantial capital savings and increased rural employment. A discussion is presented on the problems involved in the use of bamboo as reinforcement and certain suggestions are made for overcoming some of its limitations.
