摘要
It is shown that guided-wave optics has the potential to significantly affect the design, cost, and size of future array radars. A single fiber guide to each transceiver module in the antenna array can replace the proliferation of rf lines and data busses needed for signal generation and processing in a multifunction radar. Current multimode fibers have sufficient bandwidth and thermal phase stability to operate in the mobile military radar environment.
