Every plant should investigate how well it is providing for worker protection and consider what inadequate protections is costing. If hand injuries are prevalent within the facility, it is time to develop a program to combat them. This program should be divided into two parts: constant visual reminders of hand safety rules and selection of proper hand protection. This article discusses various aspects of setting up such a program, hand protector selection guidelines, and controlling glove use.
